Linda Hale
Owner

Born in Ohio, Linda graduated from Mentor High School in 1975. She lived in Marquette, MI from 1977-1979 and worked at WLUC-TV 6 as a receptionist and sales secretary. Linda then moved to California in 1980 after experiencing one of the worst winters in the UP and earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration in warm, sunny California.

From 1982 to 1986 while in southern California, Linda worked as an accounting manager for a law firm in Redondo Beach and moved the firm from their manual system of accounting to a fully computerized one in 1983. In 1986, she moved to northern California and worked for a law firm in San Francisco as their Manager of Information Systems. Linda managed both back-office & front office system applications. Her department implemented a new time & billing accounting system in 1988 and converted the firm's Wang word processing system to a Microsoft networked PC based system from 1991-1993. The concept of laptops, e-mail and the internet (all leading edge technology back in the early 90's) became a reality for Linda.

In 1994 Linda moved back to Ohio to be close to her parents and family. While there, she worked for a local CPA firm and started working with QuickBooks. After gaining her QuickBooks Certification in 1994, Linda worked exclusively with the firm's clients and provided QuickBooks set-up, training & on-going support services. In 1999, Linda became a Certified Bookkeeper through the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.

In 1999, Linda moved to Calumet, MI. She immediately recognized a need for her services and opened up Linda Hale, CB, Inc. in 2000. With a new logo and website domain name, Linda and her team of professionals are now known as

Mary McKinstry
Payroll Services Manager

Mary joined Linda Hale, CB, Inc in 2006. She is responsible for all client payroll services, including monthly, quarterly & annual payroll & sales tax preparation. Mary also supports clients not using QuickBooks at their business with what we classify as "after the fact" accounting services. Her experience gained since 2006 along with her extensive work history as outlined below makes Mary a valuable asset to our firm.

Before Mary joined Linda's business in 2006, she worked for 10 years at Peninsula Gas Co as a billing clerk, 10 years at Calumet Furniture as a bookkeeper & 10 years at two banks (who have changed their names several times now) as a proof operator and bookkeeper. If Mary continues her history to stay at one place for 10+ years, she will retire here. She has at least 10 years before Linda will let her do that.

Originally from Ontonagon, Mary moved to Calumet in 1972. She has 2 children, 3 grandchildren and 2 cats. She enjoys quilting, reading and crocheting.

Lynn Janicki
Client Services & Training Manager

Lynn joined Linda Hale CB, Inc. in 2007 and is responsible for supporting various clients with their everyday needs. She is an advanced QuickBooks user and has "hands on" experience with the QuickBooks Point of Sale software system. Lynn's patient & friendly personality makes her a valuable asset when providing QuickBooks training to our clients.

Before coming to Linda's, Lynn worked for a combined fifteen years for three different companies in full charge bookkeeping positions. She handled a wide range of responsibilities including cash receipts, accounts receivable & payable, payroll processing & all related payroll and sales taxes. Other experience included financial statement and budget preparation as well as web page updating and client service duties. What Lynn loves about her work is providing a friendly, quality service for her clients both in the local community and across the country.

Lynn lives in Houghton with her husband Phil. They have four daughters - two who have graduated from college and live in Minnesota and Ohio and two who are still attending college. Lynn enjoys hunting and fishing with her husband, shopping with her daughters and walking their lab, Kosh.
